Grim Dawn Kickstarter

Grim Dawn, the horror hack and slash ARPG I’m doing the soundtrack for, has started their Kickstarter campaign to help funding through till the end of the project. The team is small, but in order for them to get the ball rolling and get ‘er done they’ll need your support. If you can contribute, there’s some great incentives for you to brag about to your friend.

Check it out.

Sleepover Shows

Spirit Kid had the opportunity to record a video shoot with the website Sleepover Shows before Christmas, and they just posted the results. We are pleased.  Head on over there for all three vids.

Game Score Sneak Peak!

Grim DawnIf you head on over to the Grim Dawn website, you’ll have a chance to check out music I’ve been writing for the upcoming PC game by Crate Entertainment.

Music that is featured is still in the hasn’t-been-mixed stage, but regardless, you’ll get a good idea of the ambience and pulse that will be the atmosphere of the game.  Instrumentation revolves around brooding electric guitars and reverbed out flutes.

If all goes according to plan, we’ll have a release sometime this year.  I’ll be keeping on with the updates.

VidRhythm is Apple’s Runner Up App of the Year

I am shocked and a little weirded out. Let’s celebrate by indulging in a little Hot Stuff.

My Name on Blogs

Looks like my name is popping up in a some reviews and articles on VidRhythm these days.

From Kotaku, Kirk Hamilton writes:

“All the options are goofy fun, from “D-O-G-S” and “Say my Saxy Name” to “Miami,” a sultry jam that certainly made me remember my time in steamy south Florida. (…well, sort of.)”

“…inevitably, the songs that VidRhythm assembles are bizarre and totally hilarious. It gets even better when a group of people gets involved; for a case in point, see the Hamilton family rendition of Steve Pardo’s “D-O-G-S” up above.”

And in an interview with Kill Screen Magazine, Harmonix Creative Director Josh Randall said some nice words:

“I think you’ll notice that a lot of songs on the app are by Steve Pardo. And his stuff is just awesome; he really managed to figure out the aesthetic of the app went crazy with it. I think he somehow has a natural ear for this stuff.”

VidRhythm is OUT!

Harmonix’s first iOS entry hit the App Store a few weeks back, featuring a good amount of songs written by yours truly. The premiss of the app is that the user records their own original samples/videos using the iDevice’s built in camera and mic, thus creating either a horrific or hilarious version of any of the given songs preloaded onto the app.

Sooo, you have to see it to believe it. Here’s just one example of some guy’s dog interpreting my original song, “D-O-G-S.”

Tweet Tweet EP

Amy and I had some fun this weekend. We did a spur of the moment EP where we wrote, recorded (live), and fully produced the entire thing from start to finish in ONE DAY. It was a lot of fun and a neat (and slightly crazy) experiment.
